Best Lesbian Romance 2011 captures the lyricism of love from the first blush of recognition to the forever embrace of shared hearts. Radclyffe has gathered a collection as varied as our unique and irreproducible experiences of falling in love.
A practiced cynic learned the power of "Hearts and Flowers" in Theda Hudson's tale of a first anniversary. Sexy Shakespeareans discover that the real romance takes place offstage in Catherine Lundoff's "Twelfth Night".
Rich in sensual detail, the stories in Best Lesbian Romance 2011 celebrate the joy and the passion of lesbian love in all its many wondrous forms.

These authors all have a very similar writing style that I'm not too fond of. I understand that they are short stories, but some of the stories progressed too quickly with little background or character development. It was hard to follow scene changes and a lot of the authors have weird gaps in action. For instance, two characters are having a conversation and one character wonders what the first kiss would be like. Then the scene would be over and there'd be a phrase that indicates the kiss had already happened. Like.. did I miss what just happened? A lot of the characters have flat personalities and are a bit shallow so most of these can hardly be called romances. Not even steamy passionate flings. Just two people awkwardly assuming the other is a good partner and then hooking up. I read a lot of contemporary and erotic romances by developed authors so I'd better stick to what I know is good.Product details

Love Love Love this collection of stories. Me and my girlfriend enjoy reading them together before bed. Really shows that the power of love (or lust *wink*) is not bound by gender, race, etc..!
I prefer Radcyffe's own writing. Does give the flavor of other writers to either look for or avoid. Have all the other years.
Easy read and entertaining.
Not as good as I had hoped.
Not well written, stories just repeats, different names & different places. Really boring, poorly written erotica. Not a read at all.
I have to be honest--I don't really like lesbian romances. They are usually boring and way too heavy on the injustice toward women (if I wanted to read that, I'd pick up an Alice Walker book and think about suffering all night).
So if you want hot porn, this isn't it. THAT SAID, most of the stories are sweet and sexy. There are a few stories about oppression--but the emphasis is on how the women just kept loving other women, and kept celebrating the lives they made. My favorites? "Peas" and "Things I missed".
