Angels are very powerful spiritual beings. But in the scripture above, we are told that these powerful angels are ministering spirits. They are serving spirits. They were created to serve. They are called to serve, and they are gifted to serve.
God is love, and God is giving. We were created so that God could love us and give to us. God created us to serve us by giving to us.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (John 316)
God loved us so much that he gave us Jesus. Jesus came in human form so that he could give us his life, eternal life. Jesus loved us and gave to us by living the perfect life that God requires for us, as our substitute. Jesus loved us and gave to us by preaching good news to the poor, healing the sick, raising the dead, driving out demons, stilling the storms, feeding the hungry multitudes, by multiplying the loaves and the fishes, as our substitute. Jesus loved us and gave to us by defeating the devil’s temptations for us, as our substitute. Jesus loved us and gave to us by taking the judgment and punishment for our sins on his own body, in our place, as our substitute. Jesus loved us and gave to us by descending into hell for us and defeating death, hell and the devil for us, as our substitute. Jesus loved us and gave to us by rising from the dead for us, to prove that we are innocent and righteous, as our substitute. Jesus loved us and gave to us by qualifying us to be kings and priests to reign with him in heaven forever and ever.
The kingdom of God is based on loving and giving. The kingdom of God is based on serving.
